Leadership Poetry Contest Deadline December 16

Student Leadership & Involvement are hosting a Leadership Poetry Contest! All students are welcome to participate. Write a poem based on the subject of leadership and let your creativity flow in less than 700 words. The contest is open from November 16th - December 16th. Submissions must be uploaded to Campus Connect form. Submissions will be evaluated by a committee of faculty, staff and students and three winners will be selected.

 Contest Requirements:

  • Submissions should be less than 700 words 
  • Submissions can be uploaded here in PDF form                                                                                    
  • Submitted poetry should be about leadership in any sense of the word. This could include but is not limited to: your own personal leadership style, your personal leadership story/journey, a leader you admire, why leadership is important, etc.  
  • Must be a current University of Utah degree seeking student (undergraduate and graduate students welcome) 
  • Submissions will be evaluate by a committee of faculty, staff, and students.                                                                 

Three selected winners will enjoy: 

  • Their works highlighted on leadership.utah.edu and the @theU campus newsletter  
  • An opportunity to read their poetry at an upcoming SLI virtual event (if desired by the winners, not mandatory) 
  • A book of selected poems from the Campus Store
